How to choose a breast pump?
A Nurturing Moment offers the highest quality line of breast pumps available on the market. Many pumps sold at retail stores are not as effective. It is important to have a comfortable and reliable breast pump in order to maintain your milk supply and prevent breast tissue damage. I'm an authorized retailer with Medela and Hollister, two of the top selling breastpump manufacturers. Both companies carry a manufacturer's warranty when purchasing a breast pump.
Other factors to consider when purchasing a pump would be whether or not you will be pumping full-time or occasionally. If you or your baby are hospitalized and you are unable to breastfeed your baby, or you are pumping to increase your milk supply, then I would recommend either of the three hospital grade rental pumps, Medela Symphony*or Medela Lactina Select for rent or purchase. If you are returning to work fulltime, then I would suggest the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Backpack*, Medela Pump In Style Advanced*, Medela Pump In Style Traveler, Medela Pump In Style, Hollister Ameda Purely Yours, Hollister Ameda Purely Yours Backpack or Hollister Ameda Purely Yours with Carry All. These pumps are designed for full-time use.
For occasional pumping use, I would suggest a battery/electric or manual pump for you. Our electric/battery pumps include the Medela Double Ease or Medela Single Deluxe. For a manual pump we have the Medela Harmony*.
Most importantly, it is not safe to purchase or borrow a preowned pump from someone else.

Our rental pumps are hospital graded and appropiate for mothers requiring a pump for full-time use. Each pump/scale requires a $25.00 deposit, if not paid by credit card, which is refundable once the pump/scale is returned in clean condition. The purchase of a double pump kit is required for all Breastpump rentals, if you don't have one available. 8% sales tax applied in state of Alabama for all rentals unless you have a doctor's precription.

These breastpumps as well as the Medela Baby Scales are available for purchase. However, these are special order items, so please allow an additional 1-2 weeks for delivery.
